On Rock Of The Westies album, Elton John have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Since Elton John last CD (Rock Of The Westies) on Savoy Records back in 1975, I have felt a massive void in my life. Elton John’s debut, ‘Rock Of The Westies’, does not fit easily into one genre. Such great and happy songs.
Dan Dare (Pilot Of The Future) sets the tone for the entire album. A unique and uplifting song. Elton John rocks harder than ever with Grow Some Funk Of Your Own. I Feel Like A Bullet (In The Gun Of Robert Ford) is a strong cut, one of many. Street Kids (6:25) - awsome. Elton John offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Feed Me is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Billy Bones and The White Bird is a striking and quite long song. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart is so unique, as each one of the songs is.
