Since completing 1975’s ‘Moonchild River Song’, Eric Andersen fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Lead single “Moonchild River Song” and “Be True To You” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that Eric Andersen has talent. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Eric Andersen ever.
Be True To You is simply astounding. Wild Crow Blues is probably the highlight of the album. Ol’ 55 is one of my favorite songs by Eric Andersen. This song stands out greatly from the others. Music in Liza, Light The Candle is perfect as in all tracks of Be True To You. Woman, She Was Gentle is really the reason why I recommend buying Be True To You. Can’t Get You Out Of My Life is a song to enjoy for years to come. What sets The Blues Keep Fallin’ Llike The Rain apart is Eric Andersen’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Love Is Just A Game is probably the most interesting track on Be True To You.
