After seeing Eternity’s Breath (Part 1), I had to have a good Mahavishnu Orchestra cd. Visions Of The Emerald Beyond is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Now signed to Mahavishnu Orchestra’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Visions Of The Emerald Beyond” leads Mahavishnu Orchestra’s back-to-school campaign. Another great offering from Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Eternity’s Breath (Part 2) is Mahavishnu Orchestra’s best work in years. Lila’s Dance is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Musically Can’t Stand Your Funk is superior to other tracks in Visions Of The Emerald Beyond. I’ve found myself listening to Pastoral back to back and back many times. I can’t stop playing Faith. Cosmic Strut - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Charming song, great melody. In Be Happy it becomes nowhere more obvious that Mahavishnu Orchestra has yet to define own style. Earth Ship is pretty funky and mellow. Visions Of The Emerald Beyond couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Pegasus. Mahavishnu Orchestra offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. On The Way Home To Earth is so unique, as each one of the songs is.
