Bessie Smith’s debut, ‘The Blues Collection 09′, does not fit easily into one genre. There were many famous songs of Bessie Smith available. This is the first studio album from Bessie Smith since bad diagnosis in 1975. This album is in perfect progression from Bessie Smith!
I think Careless Love is the best song Bessie Smith has ever done. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. First time I heard Trombone Cholly was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Excellent vocals and musical performances. Safety Mama - Okay, I just talked about depth. It’s such an underrated song. Lyrics of Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out are precise and evocative. Take It Right Back was the first single release from the album The Blues Collection 09. Bessie Smith breathes new life into the music in He’s Got Me Going. Kitchen Man - This is a very lively song. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Gimme A Pigfoot - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Bessie Smith. In Take Me For A Buggy Ride it becomes nowhere more obvious that Bessie Smith has yet to define own style. In I’m Down In The Dumps the music gets its power.
