This disc has all of the essential Camel classics. ‘Music Inspired By The Snow Goose’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Camel energies, virtually a rebirth. This album is in perfect progression from Camel!
The sound in Rhayader is really warm and Camel’s signature voice is still very much present. Rhayader Goes To Town - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Sanctuary is Camel’s best work in years. Fritha - A classic Camel track. The Snow Goose is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Friendship is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. I like the idea behind Migration. In Rhayader Alone full palet of sound is used by Camel to accentuate the presentation. Flight Of The Snow Goose is a striking and quite long song. Preparation is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Camel released so far. Dunkirk is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Epitaph is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Still going through Music Inspired By The Snow Goose and coming to appreciate The Great Marsh more and more with every listen. I have all of Camel’s tracks and Flight Of The Snow Goose (Single Edit, Bonus Track) is probably the most his introspective effort. Rhayader (Single Edit, Bonus Track) is one of the best records ever. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Rhayader Goes To Town (Live At The Marquee Club, Bonus Track) good vocals. I can’t stop humming along The Snow Goose, Freefall (Live At The Marquee Club, Bonus Track).
