On Arte Y Majestad album, El Camaron De La Isla have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new El Camaron De La Isla album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1975 tour in Europe. Self-described as Latin with lots of words, El Camaron De La Isla comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This album is a scorcher!
SOLO VIVO PA’ QUERERTE (GRANAINA) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. MALDITO YO ESTABA (SIGUIRIYA) - I like this one. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Arte Y Majestad couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track NI QUE ME MANDEN A MI (FANDANGOS). In EN LA BOCA DE UNA MINA (TARANTO) you won’t find any flashy solos. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with DEJALA VIVIR EN PAZ (FANDANGOS). ARTE Y MAJESTAD (BULERIAS) is a bit of a show-tune. All of songs on Arte Y Majestad and have something to say letting alone NO NAQUERES MAS DE MI (TANGOS). ISLA DE LEON (CANTI AS) - A classic El Camaron De La Isla track. EN LA PUERTA DE LE ERMITA (FANDANGOS DE HUELVA) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
