This -song debut EP shows the promise that Henry Mancini has. There is so much to love about Henry Mancini, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Henry Mancini’s debut, ‘Pimpin With Mancini’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
I listened to the opening track Theme From Fantasy Island and liked it a lot. Nbc Nightly News Theme can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Henry Mancini is all about. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. This song may be the most meaningful. Car Wash is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Butterfly sets the tone for the entire album. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. As always, Henry Mancini’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Pick Up The Pieces defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. I can’t stop humming along Satin Soul. Henry Mancini has astounded me with this amazing track. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Henry Mancini. I was truly moved when I heard African Symphony. Memphis Underground the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. The Swingin Shepherd Blues is Henry Mancini’s best work in years. Charade on Pimpin With Mancini is solid and easy to listen to. A Bluish Bag is the most memorable and exquisite. Peter Gunn (New Version) - A strong beat. Theme From Star Trek is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Henry Mancini released so far.
