It has been sixteen years Deep Purple’ last studio CD, “Days May Come and Days May Go” which won Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Deep Purple on ‘Owed To G (Instrumental; Bolin)’. Since Deep Purple last CD (Days May Come and Days May Go) on Savoy Records back in 1975, I have felt a massive void in my life. Owed To G (Instrumental; Bolin) and If You Love Me Woman (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes, Lor…) is really good.
If You Love Me Woman (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes, Lor…) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. The Orange Juice Song (Coverdale, Lord) - A catchy, upbeat tune. I Got Nothing For You (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes, Lo…) is outstanding work of Deep Purple. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Statesboro Blues (Willie McTell). Dance To The Rock and Roll (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes…) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Drifter (Rehearsal Sequence; Bolin, Coverdale) is the first taste of the new album. Drifter (Version I; Bolin, Coverdale) is a excellent sing-along. The Last Of The Long Jams (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes…) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. The Last Of The Long Jams 2 (Jam; Bolin, Coverdale…) is absolutely incredible.
