fifteen years ago, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Keep On Lovin’ You”. ‘Wake Up Everybody’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes on ‘Wake Up Everybody’. Wake Up Everybody touched my soul like nothing else.
Keep On Lovin’ You very upbeat. You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good which is my favorite is a truly Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes sounding song. Don’t Leave Me This Way (6:05) a good melody. Album opener Tell The World How I Feel About ‘Cha Baby is a bright, upbeat ditty. To Be Free To Be Who We Are is the funkiest number on the album. I’m Searching For A Love is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion.
