John Digester has compared writing for Tony Bennet and Bill Evans’s new album to that on ‘The Tony Bennett and Bill Evans Album’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Tony Bennet and Bill Evans comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This album has some very good songs like Young and Foolish and The Touch Of Your Lips. This is my first Tony Bennet and Bill Evans Album and i must say i am blown away.
Opening track The Touch Of Your Lips shows the best of Tony Bennet and Bill Evans. Some Other Time - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. When In Rome is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. We’ll Be Together Again (4:38) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. When listening to Waltz For Debby, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. In But Beautiful Tony Bennet and Bill Evans spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Days Of Wine and Roses - For me, this is the best of the album.
